Job Title: Associate Director of Kids Ministry // Elementary
Reports to: Kids Ministry Director
Work Hours: Full Time: (45 hours/week)
Anticipated Schedule: Variable; Sunday Mornings
Job Purpose & Goals:
• The Associate Director of Kids Ministry // Elementary provides leadership among volunteers, spiritual guidance, and FUN! for the Elementary ages of Kids ministry and their families. This role partners with the Kids team in support of the mission and vision of Lincoln Berean Church
• Inspire kids along a path that develops their personal faith in Jesus. Cultivate a purposeful, fun, safe and engaging discipleship culture for children from kindergarten through fifth grade
• Develop volunteers and partner with parents to nurture and equip children to become lifelong followers of Jesus
• Prioritize the development of Sunday morning programming to be engaging and meaningful for kids and parents
• Be a collaborative and supportive team member on the LBC KIDS team
We are looking for someone who loves Jesus more than anything, loves people, and has a passion for teaching children God’s Word and should be willing to think outside the box to present the gospel message to children in age-appropriate and relevant ways.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Leadership, Management and Accountability for Volunteers
• Help foster a culture of excellence, accomplishment, and excitement for what’s possible in Kids Ministry under the leadership of the Kids Director
• With leadership from Kids Director provide a compelling and collaborative vision, clear direction, and motivation for every volunteer
• Provide leadership, management, development and oversight for volunteer team leaders and volunteers
• Systematically identify, recruit, equip and encourage high-capacity volunteers leading and executing on the vision and mission
• Management:
• Assist Kids Director with recruitment, training, and management of volunteers in Kids Ministry
• Guide, coach and develop volunteers through focused learning opportunities
• Nurture a healthy volunteer team environment, recognizing and rewarding contribution
• Cultivate Major Lay-Leader Relationships and be consistently engaged and responsive to volunteer team leaders and volunteers
• Develop and implement a culture of affirmation for volunteers
• Consistently model LBC staff Core Values
• Oversee tracking, communication, project management and logistics
Sunday Morning Programming
• Attend and contribute to a weekly creative meeting that prepares the team for weekend programming
• Be present during programming to give direction and problem solve
• Oversee the leadership of a dynamic small/large group experience during weekend services that include a live host, teacher, Kid’s worship leader/team, and other elements
• Manage “One-on-One Buddy System” and Special Needs ministry
• Address room needs and maintain safety, security, and emergency procedures
Curriculum Management and Customization
• Review and edit both Large Group and Small Group curriculum for alignment with LBC’s doctrine
• Monitor the implementation of curriculum for effectiveness
• Develop and monitor a strategy to make Huddles an effective tool to encourage and equip our Small Group Leaders
Parent Connection
• Develop strong relationships with kids and their parents
• Be present in the Kid’s lobby during weekend services, actively engaging kids and parents
• Collaborate with Kids Coordinator to facilitate regular and effective communication (email, social media, etc.) about programs, teaching, resources, and overseeing the general promotion of Kids Ministry
• Create effective personal contact and follow-up for guests, newcomers and kids and ensure that all are informed of the next steps to get plugged in
• Empower and equip lay leaders and small group leaders to connect with parents
Special Events
• Demonstrate a willingness and availability to actively support LBC events and all-church initiatives throughout the year
• Speak/teach at Kid’s large group worship services at least once per quarter
• Collaborate with Kids Team for Special Events such as VBS, Family Experiences, etc.
Competencies and Skills:
• Outgoing, not afraid to invite people in and engage others in conversation
• Passion for serving people well and attending to the details
• Must be a leader of leaders with the ability to delegate easily to expand the ministry
• Strong team player that can bring their very best to a staff and volunteer team
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, communications skills, and follow-through
• Excellent people skills
• Self-motivated and able to lead tasks or projects to completion
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree Required; Bible College or Seminary preferred
• Experienced with leading Kids ministry (1-2 years) preferred
• Ability to manage and lead through a large team of lay leaders and volunteers
• Demonstrated skill in leadership development and discipling
• Experience with recruiting and training volunteers, especially in a church environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Must make Lincoln Berean Church their home church and participate in the life of the community (Life Group).
