Position Title: Director of Men’s Ministry
Reports to: Managing Director of Discipleship
Status: Full-time, Ministry Staff (45 hours/week)
Schedule: Variable; Sunday Mornings
Job Purpose and Goals:
The Director of Men's Ministry leads Lincoln Berean's effort to raise up men who follow Jesus at home, at work, and in the world — men of wisdom, integrity, and courage. This role requires someone with a pastor's heart and a teacher's gift: someone who earns trust across a wide range of men and teaches with clarity and conviction, bringing the Bible to bear on real life.
Working with the Discipleship Team, this leader will strengthen and support the men engaged in Life Groups while also creating targeted environments — studies, gatherings, and experiences — that go deeper into what it means for men to grow in character, lead with integrity, and step confidently into the roles God has entrusted to them.
We’re looking for someone who loves Jesus wholeheartedly, believes strongly in the power of intentional relationships, and is excited to equip men to live with courage, character, and purpose in every area of their lives.
The 5 Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Discipleship
Contribute to the overall discipleship approach of Lincoln Berean Church through participation on Adult Discipleship Team
Embrace a relational discipleship approach that prioritizes helping men learn how to be with Jesus in their daily environment so that they might learn to be like him
Create opportunities for men to grow in their knowledge and ability to lead with integrity in life, work, and at home
Model a life of discipleship that is highly adaptable to different seasons of life and contexts
Ensure pathways are accessible, practical, and aligned with churchwide discipleship direction.
Lead, Manage, Hold Accountable (LMA)
Recruit, train, and coach leaders and key volunteers.
Build a scalable leadership pipeline that identifies and develops emerging leaders.
Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and accountability for leaders.
Build a leadership culture rooted in transparency, Christlike character, and a desire to invest in and multiply others.
Life Groups
Work with and support LBC’s Life Group Team by:
Mentoring/coaching Life Group leaders that are actively engaged in Men’s Ministry
Pray regularly for the ministry as a whole and for those leaders in your care
Resource Life Groups with opportunities for targeted discipleship environments that address obstacles and struggles particular to men generally
Lead a Life Group
Shepherding
Teach in a variety of settings—groups, classes, and leadership environments.
Offer pastoral care, prayer, and counsel to men navigating life challenges.
Support men in applying faith to home, marriage, parenting, workplace, and community life.
Partner with Care ministries for coordinated care when necessary.
On-call, Weddings, and Funerals as needed.
Relational Connector
Support the ministry by pairing men, resourcing leaders, and ensuring groups stay healthy.
Help men connect with one another by creating simple entry points and forming groups that foster authentic relationships.
Guide men into the broader life of the church through Life Groups, Serving Opportunities, Outreach, and other discipleship opportunities.
Equip leaders to facilitate honest conversation, accountability, and ongoing growth within their groups.
Competencies and Skills:
Growing relationship with Jesus and a life marked by integrity, humility, and emotional maturity.
Demonstrated success in relational discipleship, leader development, or mentoring networks.
Strong communication skills with ability to teach and shepherd effectively.
People-oriented with high emotional intelligence and a pastoral heart.
Ability to recruit, inspire, and equip volunteer leaders.
Organizational and strategic planning skills to build a sustainable ministry framework.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
2-3+ years of ministry leadership experience in a mid – to large-sized church.
Must make Lincoln Berean Church their home church and participate in the life of the community (Life Group).
