Job Purpose and Goals:
The position of Tech Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the Tech Specialists in key aspects of corporate gatherings and other events (ministry support, planning and execution of lighting, sound, cameras, screens/video, streaming, some stage design, volunteer development, creative input, etc.). This is primarily accomplished in a collaborative context that includes other teams (Teaching Team, Communications, volunteers, etc.).
This person must be comfortable executing upon a shared vision, possess and continually pursuing technical prowess, and exhibit a passionate and honest walk with Jesus as evidenced by a servant’s heart and a longing to see God glorified in gatherings. Overall, Tech Coordinators help make sure tech serves the mission without becoming the focus of the gathering—they help tech feel seamless and tasteful so that the story of God can shine through.
Key Roles + Responsibilities for the seat are:
AVL system support
Primary coverage option for funerals + weddings
Set-up small event needs (foyer piano, staff meeting tech, etc.)
Help other ministry areas troubleshoot unique setup needs
Basic emergency non-auditorium troubleshooting on weekends
Record events as needed + follow-up on post-production tasks
Maintenance + repair
Perform regular projector + microphone care
Move items to + from various storage spaces
Repair equipment (individually + alongside Specialist)
Document completed maintenance projects + equipment installs
Assist with recurring setups (stage builds, baptisms, etc.)
Team building
Help recruit + train new AVL volunteer teams
Fill serving gaps in AVL volunteer team schedule
Become the go-to subject matter expert for AVL FAQs
Assist in the creation of SOPs for all equipment
Provide “simple tech” training to ministries alongside Specialists
Personal + professional development
Work closely with Specialists to build practical AVL systems knowledge
Participate in continual education (training, conferences, etc.)
Grow in your ability to balance stewardship, creativity, + reliability
Seek out opportunities to execute with limited supervision
Build candid, savvy, teachable DNA within your team
Feedback loop
Speak into the AVL volunteer team scheduling process
Suggest new process improvements + efficiencies
Help identify relevant volunteer + congregant critiques
Act as liaison between Specialists + other ministries
Remind Specialists of priorities + mission objectives

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred
· 3+ years of relevant experience in a local church (or similar)
· Knowledge of ProPresenter, Planning Center, stage plotting, band/music dynamics, digital and analog equipment installation/maintenance, and streaming/broadcast platforms and processes
· Ability to take direction well and work with limited supervision as needed
· Ability to live with margin and counsel others from a biblical worldview
