Position Title: Coordinator for Kids // Volunteers and Resources
Reports to: Director of Kids Ministry
Status: Full-Time, Support Staff (40 hours/wk)
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday
Job Purpose and Goals:
This position exists for the purpose of providing support for the weekly operations and extend the productivity of the KIDS Ministry Team of Lincoln Berean. This role requires excellent communication, detail orientation, flexibility, collaboration, and having FUN!
The key roles for this ‘seat’ are:
- LMA for Volunteers
- Welcome Team
- Large Event Volunteer Coordination
- Resource Room Support
- Support for Kids Team
Daily / Weekly General Tasks
LMA for Volunteers
- Assist with volunteer team recruitment, training, and scheduling including email communication, background checks, application, identifying the best fit, and planning center set-up
- Manage communication and information flow regarding events, volunteer needs, and schedules
- Actively engage with the volunteers on Sunday to ensure they are equipped and encouraged
- Meet with volunteers as needed throughout the week
Welcome Team
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for the Welcome Team
- Create a warm, welcoming environment for new and current families
- Manage communication and information flow regarding events, volunteer needs, and schedules
Large Event Volunteer Coordination
- Oversee volunteer recruitment of events; these events include VBS, Date Night, etc...
- Train, encourage, and celebrate volunteers as needed
- Work with each Kids Min staff for various events as needed (i.e 4th/5th event, etc…)
- Assist as needed with event planning and management
Resource Room Support
- Oversee the execution of resources for all programming including Sunday mornings and events
- Create supply sheets for small groups after curriculum has been edited
- On occasion, offer suggestions for alternate small group activities
- Execute other duties as needed (i.e. delivering carts, loading supply bags, gathering supplies, etc...)
- Upload lessons and activities to Planning Center as needed
Support for Kids Team
- Provide support as needed for Sunday Kids programming
- Execute Décor vision with the help of a volunteer team
- Manage Kids Social Media accounts and create content to best communicate Kids Ministry programming and needs
Education, Skills and Background
Necessary:
- High School Diploma / Associate Degree
- Has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Highly Organized – A must for events, weekly programming, supplies and resources
- Detail Oriented – Retains details and foresees potential conflicts that may need attention
- Self-Starter – demonstrated capacity to anticipate needs before they arise; demonstrated capability in forming systems of administration
- Flexible – Able to easily switch between routine, weekly tasks and random ones
- Tech Savvy – Experience with basic software (e.g. Microsoft Suite, Zoom, etc.)
- Team Player – Passionate to see this team and ministry succeed. Humble enough to take direction and insightful enough to give helpful input
- Love to Serve – Jump into any spot as needed. No task is too big and no task is beneath you.
Desired:
- Has the people and technical skills necessary to interact and communicate with superiors, colleagues, coaches, leaders, the body and the public as needed to coordinate and facilitate the ministry and any other assigned task
- Great Smile – Not that you are always smiling – but you are an easy person for people to talk to whether it’s about a late registration (again) or a more serious issue they want to talk about with a pastor
- Proof-reader – English was a good subject for you in school! You can spell check, proof and fix grammar errors in our communication.

Must make Lincoln Berean Church their home church and participate in the life of the community (Life Group).
