How much does the Ministry Residency cost?
The Ministry Residency is a paid opportunity with tuition assistance. Ministry Residents are considered part-time employees of Lincoln Berean and part-time students enrolled in a Master of Arts in Global Leadership program through an accredited online seminary (Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary). Ministry Residents will be compensated for their time spent working as part-time employees. Ministry Residents will not be compensated for time spent working to complete their Master’s degree. However, through the Lincoln Berean Seminary Scholarship program, they will be eligible to apply for a 75% tuition scholarship applicable to each class in which they enroll at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
Why do I need an undergraduate degree to be considered for the Ministry Residency?
As part of their theological development, Ministry Residents will be enrolled in a Master of Arts in Global Leadership program through an accredited online seminary (Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary). Since this is a graduate degree, Ministry Residents will need to have completed their undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree by the time of the program start date.
After the Ministry Residency, will I have an opportunity to work full-time at Lincoln Berean Church?
The purpose of the Ministry Residency is to provide a focused ministry experience that equips and launches future Kingdom leaders. This 22-month program is designed to shape young leaders and equip them with the foundational skills needed to enter full-time ministry and begin (launch) their leadership journey. Our goal is to prepare Ministry Residents to step into vocational ministry leadership roles in a variety of contexts including church ministry and missions. The main goal is not to provide our Ministry Residents with a job at Lincoln Berean Church. With that being said, part of the focus of this program is to help Ministry Residents identify ministry leadership roles that align with their God-given strengths and calling. After graduating from the program, Ministry Residents are welcome to apply to any open roles at Lincoln Berean and will go through the application process like any other candidate.
